RAQUEL Jordi Labanda.
Jordi Labanda has lived in Barcelona since the age of three. In 1993 he studied industrial design and worked as a commercial illustrator. In 1995 he began to collaborate widely with the international press, his work appeared in The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Tatler, Marie Clair Latam, WWD, Vogue US, and Vogue Italia.
Labanda depicts classic contemporary characters and settings in a lavish style that reflects a new concept of modernity. His style is painting with gouache on paper.
His views on design, fashion architecture, art, human relations and social behavior at times ironic, photographic at others emerge from a profound social and aesthetic analyses of the themes treated. Labanda is obsessed with the search of beauty, while instinctively communicates aspirational values. His work is credited with giving illustration a decisive role in fashion and the media in recent years.
His work has traveled around Spain, in an itinerary exhibition hosted by the Magazine. International recognizement have lead Labanda to exhibit in Florence, with Salvatore Ferragamo.
His illustrations have also been transcended in books. Such as “HEY DAY”.
In recent years, he founded the Jordi Labanda Studio, where he orchestrates his artistic projects with corporate clients, as well as designs his fashion collections, and other Jordi Labanda branded products such as stationary, writing, rugs, candles, home accessories. They are selectively distributed in Europe, North and South America, Australia and Asia.
