Collette Dinnigan is a Sydney based designer born in South Africa whose family sailed to New Zealand when she was a young girl. She graduated from a design course at Wellington Polytechnic and moved to Sydney where she worked for the ABC’s costume department.
Collette Dinnigan's style is chic, simple, elegant, romantic and girly. She doesn't just make fancy frocks. She has said "All women long to feel girly and feminine. When you put on something pretty, you feel pretty. Most of my dresses tantalise without giving too much away." Her designs are very personal and she never stray too far from doing what shes good at - creating clothes for people who go out after dark.
Her designs include, lingerie, ready to wear, and bridal. Each piece has its own uniqueness, something that as a stylish individual. She has mastered the art of the "impact" dress, perfect for a leading lady's premiere or a model's birthday party. Collette Dinnigan has dedicated her life to designing exquisite garments for women and has dressed some of Hollywood’s most glamorous and talented such as Charlize Theron, Angelina Jolie, Naomi Watts,
Kate Bosworth and Halle Berry.
Her collections features lace, embroidery and silk printed fabrics, which have been intricately designed to make women feel they can experience the exclusiveness of her garments.
She has won many awards including Australian designer of the year in 1996 & 2005, Louis Vuitton business award in 1997, Entrepreneurs of the world award in 2002 and many more accomplishments over the last 20 years.
