Akira Isogawa; his unique and contemporary designs
have brought him international recognition and his collections are sought after by women looking to express their femininity
and beauty. His designs are influenced by a range of experiences, but most notable his upbringing in Japan. Akira, who came onto the fashion scene in the '90s, is one of the few Australian designers to have showcased his collections in Paris to international buyers. Despite his international fame he hasn't forgotten where it all began and continues to show collections in Sydney at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week, which he has been doing since 1996. Akira worked with four Sydney Dance Companies - Salome, Air & Other Invisible Forces, Ellipse, Grand, as a costume designer and has worked with Qantas to developed accessories for First and Business Class. His work has generated excellent reviews from leaders in the fashion industry like Anna Piaggi and been warmly received by the media including The New York Times and US Vogue.
